Golfers face numerous psychological challenges when out on the course. This chapter provides a critical summary of the most frequently used cognitive-behavioural strategies, all of which are discussed and applied further, in various contexts. It provides an explanation for what the techniques are, and through offering particular advice for golfers, coaches, and parents, identify how they broadly work to enhance performance under pressure. If parents can become aware of the ways in which they speak to themselves, and how it impacts on their feelings and actions, they can become more in-tune with how their language can affect the thoughts, feelings, and actions of young golfers. Parents can encourage young golfers to practise emotional control strategies at home, so that they can use them effectively when on the course. Key strategies presented in the chapter have included pre-shot routines, self-talk, self-confidence building techniques, and emotional control.en
